United Airlines Inaugural Flight Lands at Dominica’s Douglas-Charles Airport

ROSEAU, Dominica – Dominica marked a significant milestone in its tourism and aviation sector as United Airlines’ inaugural non-stop flight from New York/Newark landed today at Douglas-Charles Airport.

This new service, operating every Saturday from Newark Liberty International Airport, is the second direct flight route between the United States and Dominica. The arrival coincides with Dominica’s tourism expansion efforts, including infrastructure upgrades and the addition of nearly 500 hotel rooms by 2025.

Tourism Minister Denise Charles-Pemberton highlighted the route’s importance in enhancing accessibility and stimulating economic growth. Discover Dominica Authority CEO Marva Williams emphasized its potential to attract more travelers, particularly from the tri-state area.

The inaugural flight comes ahead of Dominica’s Mas Domnik Carnival on March 3-4, 2025, further positioning the island as a premier travel destination.
