U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) Commander Admiral Alvin Holsey met this week with Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Chief of Defence Staff Brigadier Telbert Benjamin to discuss strengthening bilateral defense cooperation between the United States and Antigua and Barbuda.
According to statements from SOUTHCOM, the meetings focused on advancing shared security objectives in the Caribbean, including countering transnational organized crime, illicit trafficking, and enhancing border security.
Admiral Holsey described the partnership with Antigua and Barbuda as integral to maintaining regional stability and security. SOUTHCOM emphasized that its collaboration with Caribbean nations remains critical to deterring criminal networks that threaten both regional and U.S. interests.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by U.S. Southern Command to bolster defense partnerships across the Caribbean through joint training, maritime domain awareness, and humanitarian assistance initiatives facilitated via the U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown.

Gaston Browne’s RICTUS smile is a joy to behold.
This type of smile is very misleading (ask any professional photographer), because it could come over in this photo opportunity as three things: (1) horror, (2) pain or (3) genuine happiness.

This is the smile of confidence. A visionary smile that can read with pin point accuracy the present and the future. God has devinely place Gaston Browne in leadership of this country to ensure that the people can see for themselves what good governance is all about.
This hypocrisy is out of the world.. meanwhile the US just blew up their fourth boat with drugs coming out of Venezuela, the same Venezuela that GB said he stand with.
I’m not for anyone government, other than the Government and people of Antigua, but this man playing political chess(which he will loose by the way) with these powerful nations for his own political egotistical popularity, is just alarming.
Pick a side Gatson..you might not have anything to lose , but trust me the people of Antigua do, because your actions have serious consequences that you are gullible of.
Strong diplomatic move by PM Browne reminding the world that the Caribbean is a zone of peace, not a military playground.
So why can’t we know what they discussed? If anything doesn’t any decision they may have made impact all of us? I’m not saying it should have been a press con but at least provide us with some details… Guess it will be in the Cabinet notes

The US is conducting CIA operations in Venezuela and other parts of the Caribbean as widely reported.
Note the fact that this Admiral Alvin Hosley only visited two islands including Antigua.
For those who don’t know Marco Rubio the US Secretary of State family are Cuban refugees in the US. He grew up in little Havana in Florida with a hatred for Cuba post Batista.
Castro was Hugo Rafael Chávez’s mentor. Venezuela maintains a close relationship with the Cuban people and has given Cuba life saving support. That burns the craw of Marco Rubio and other Republican politicians.
Even thought Venezuela has never declared itself a communist country, the Republicans think Venezuela is no different from Cuba politically.
With a Secretary of State who is of diehard anti Venezuela mentality; the US propaganda machine against Venezuela is now in action and Antigua and Barbuda is playing footsie with both countries
This has been in the works for a while.Gaston like those who follow him are just convenient tools for the US
Remember the Antigua and Barbuda former Royal Police Commissioner suddenly left to head up the Caribbean division of the partnership between the Caribbean countries and the US SOUTHCOM.
That Caribbean operation is based in Barbados not Antigua.
