DAILY MAIL: A 12-year-old allegedly suffocated her cousin after the pair got into a dispute over an iPhone while at their grandmother’s house.

The unidentified girl, who turns 13 next week, allegedly used bedding to suffocate Demeria Hollingsworth, eight, before cleaning up and repositioning her body on Monday, according to WREG

‘I just lost my baby, the most beautiful child of God,’ Hollingsworth’s mother, Rayana ‘Rayy’ Smith, wrote on GoFundMe. ‘The pain I’m feeling is unbearable. I have to now live life without her in this crazy world. The video player is currently playing an ad. You can skip the ad in 5 sec with a mouse or keyboard

‘I never imagined anything like this would happen and now find myself trying to fund a funeral.’

Police have obtained a video of the violent act, which they say shows the 12-year-old suffocating the little girl while she was ‘sleeping in the top bunk,’ according to District Attorney of the 28th Judicial District, Frederick Agee

Smith said the girls were staying with their grandmother in Humboldt, Tennessee, for the summer, and the tragedy occurred after the pair were arguing over an iPhone, WREG reported.

‘When they told me about that, I should have just gone to get my kid,’ she told the outlet. ‘But they were having fun for the summer, and I didn’t think she would kill my baby.

‘She did nothing to deserve for her life to be taken. She was only eight years old. She just turned eight in April.’

The 12-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence.

Agee said his office will be petitioning Juvenile Judge Mark Johnson to have the child tried as an adult and transferred into the Circuit Court.

‘I consider this to be one of the most disturbing violent acts committed by either an adult or juvenile that my office has prosecuted,’ Agee said on Facebook.

If she is transferred, it will allow for a ‘lengthier sentence, whether that will be through incarceration or supervision with court-ordered conditions,’ according to Agee.
