Tyra Fenton and Kasiya Daley Qualify for 2025 Carifta Games
Antigua and Barbuda’s Tyra Fenton has secured her spot in the 100m for the 2025 Carifta Games after a standout performance at the Cool and Smooth Interschool Track and Field Championships. Representing St. Anthony’s Secondary School (SASS), she not only qualified but also won the Under-17 girls’ 100m. This adds to her earlier qualification in the 200m and a gold medal win in the 400m.
Princess Margaret School’s (PMS) Kasiya Daley also earned a 100m qualification, adding to his previously secured spot in the boys’ Under-20 200m. He clinched gold in the 100m final on Friday, solidifying his place for the April 19-21 regional event in Trinidad and Tobago.
Other athletes qualifying so far include Dwanye Fleming, Ranique Richards (PMS), Zonique Charles (SNRA), Geolyna Dowdye (PMS), and Lanica Locker.

Congratulation to all the youths, we are looking real good, just keep up the hard work. I know Fenton is on the young side, but i wish she could get an early admittance in an athletic club in the U.S, while completing her education.
I must say it seems like the field aspect is way below par, like our athletic clubs are focusing mostly on the tracks. Ever since Ms Priscilla surprisingly came on the scene wearing the Antigua 🇦🇬 flag as a high jumper and represented us real good, we’ve failed to see another high jumper rise to the top. Briefly I manage to see some high jumping and from what I saw, it’s as if these kids are just on their own. 2025 and we are still jumping like we are in the 1970’s, since the modernized jumping form is not perfected.
Back in the day myself and Callipars was rolling and scissoring over these hights at ease.
Let’s make it happens at Carifta.
