Two young men from Villa were shot near the West Bus Station in St. John’s moments ago.
Preliminary reports indicate they were on their way home from a Public Works meeting at the Multi-Purpose Centre when the shooting occurred.
One man was reportedly shot in the side and the other in the leg. Both are alleged to be associated with a group known as “2Drilly.”

This [feud] between Grays Farm/Green Bay and Point/Villa, believe it or not goes back, as far as, the 1970’s.
As a teenager from Villa and my first girlfriend who lived on Armstrong Road – Ms. Issac still sexy, gorgeous, voluptuous to this day; there were times when these feuds in the 1970’s would flare up between Gray’s Green and Point/Villa;,and the boundary line was The Bridge on Market Street at Fibrey.
The few times per week when I would visit her, I would walk up High Street to Independence Ave to Tindell Road 😀then sneak unto Armstrong Rd from the South.
Her and her friends would then walk me back up Market Street to BATA. Those were days when the weapons were fists, bottles, sticks and stones.
Today it’s all about the gun.

Watching a documentary on the Crips gang in LA made me realize that, 30 years later, many ended up dead or in prison. Gang culture destroys lives and communities. Governments should take a page out of El Salvador’s book and aggressively dismantle violent gangs before they become deeply rooted in society.
