Joshua Roberts and Kerisha Sweeney were officially honoured as the 2025 recipients of the annual Guiding Light Awards, receiving medals and certificates from Their Excellencies Sir Rodney and Lady Williams on behalf of the Halo Foundation.
The awardees now join a distinguished and select group of honourees since the awards were established in 2022. They were encouraged to continue serving as beacons of inspiration to their peers, exemplifying the values of leadership, service, and selflessness.
During his congratulatory remarks, His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams underscored the significance of the award, noting that going above and beyond one’s calling is a true testament to character. He further highlighted that the Guiding Light Awards, which were the brain child of Her Excellency Lady Williams, were designed to amplify and celebrate the positive actions and contributions of the nation’s uniformed youth. .
Also present at the event were family members of the recipients , Commissioner of the Girl Guides Mrs . Suzette Spencer-Burton and Scout Commissioner Mrs. Patricia Salmon .
The selection of the awardees was made by the individual institutions.
