Two men have pleaded not guilty to charges linked to a string of vehicle break-ins during the Soca Sangria event on November 2.
Omar Richards, 19, of Carnival Gardens, and St. Claire Simon, 26, of Barnes Hill, appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel this week on multiple charges, including theft, malicious damage, and giving false information to police.
Prosecutors allege the pair broke into several vehicles, stealing and damaging personal items worth about $977, including a Nissan Xtrail key, Versace perfume, and Apple AirPods.
Richards, who faces another theft charge, remains in custody, while Simon was granted bail. Both are due back in court on March 4, 2026.

Where can you get a broken car glass for $977, the cost of these little punks damages to several vehicles would likely cost many thousands to the cars owners.
We can only hope the judge gives these clowns a sentence that is commensurate with the damage.
But that just dreaming. Nobody expects consequences for their actions here.
How embarrassing for the police chiefs to drive around the island, where every 3rd car has a blacked ot windscreen. If that isn’t a f you statement to the police, what is?

Breaking into cars at a party? That’s bold and reckless. People’s stuff getting stolen is so frustrating.
Interesting that one guy is in jail for another theft and the other got bail. Makes me wonder about their criminal history
So people pay all that money to go out to enjoy themselves only to have wicked people like them taking advantage of the situation
