Two men appeared in the St. John’s Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, July 10, and pleaded guilty to separate charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and cannabis.

Twenty-five-year-old Emerson Alexander of Villa, Antigua and Barbuda, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Wason on charges of unlawful possession of a (.380) Pistol, and possession of six (6) rounds of matching ammunition.

He pleaded guilty to both charges and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison until July 23 for sentencing.

In a separate matter, 43-year-old Keiron Philip of Ottos Newtown appeared before the said magistrate on a charge of Unlawful Possession of 50 grams of Cannabis.

He pleaded guilty, and was convicted and fined $1,000 to be paid within 14 days. In default, he will serve 90 days at His Majesty’s Prison. The court also ordered the destruction of the cannabis.
