Two residents of Cedar Valley have been sentenced following a police raid earlier this week.
Mandella Spencer, 39, was ordered to pay $11,000 within a year or serve a one-year prison term for possession of 368.9 grams of cannabis. She was reprimanded and discharged for possessing eight cannabis plants.
Nyana Alfred, 23, received a four-week prison sentence for unlawful possession of four rounds of ammunition and was reprimanded and discharged for possessing 0.2 grams of cocaine.
The pair were arrested on Tuesday after a Criminal Investigations Department raid uncovered cannabis, cocaine, and ammunition. Both initially faced multiple charges, including possession with intent to transfer and cannabis cultivation.
They pleaded guilty to the charges during a court appearance on Thursday and were sentenced by Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel.

This broke government is using the courts to boost their revenue to pay their cops… 😂..what a ting. They can’t even afford to feed so much prisoners piling up in prison, so they resort to fines.
They have been doing this for years now, because they are broke as a dog…Same reason they went after the Alpha with such varoscity, because they are broke as can be.
Everything in Antigua is about money, so where is all that money that were collected Mr wise finance minister?
Economic powerhouse my backside..
Time to get rid of this inept administration, for real. Their policies on crime are the weakest in the entire Caribbean. Even montserrat across the way have tougher laws than Antigua.
Go to Montserrat and commit a crime and see how the people treat you, they don’t play around with vagabonds in their island.
