
Pointe ville- Twenty-five young people, aged thank the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme through difficulty, and to exemplified their team leader, band’s Award family for accomplishing improve in confidence, discipline, confidence, discipline, teamwork and purpose.
These are qualities present in family members were presented with awards for their efforts in the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme.
The presentation formed part of an investiture ceremony that was held at Government House on Saturday with the Governor General Sir Rodney Williams officiating.
Sir Rodney noted that both he and Lady Williams take great pride in supporting a programme that so effectively nurtures leadership, service, discipline, and resilience among young people.
“We also warmly acknowledge the invaluable support and participation of the annual Commonwealth Day activities hosted by the Office of the Governor General, which so fittingly reflect our shared commitment to youth development, service, and global citizenship,” he stated.
Sir Rodney highly commended the programmes, as in his view, it aids in the development of young people. “The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is far more than a programme; it is a journey that challenges young people to discover their potential, to serve others, to grow in confidence, discipline, and purpose. These are qualities that build not only strong individuals, but strong communities and strong nations,” the GG remarked.
Sir Rodney had kind words for the support system that accompanies each awardee noting that success was a key factor in the success of the programme. “I wish to commend the Award Leaders, volunteers, educators, and parents whose guidance and encouragement make this programme possible. Your investment in our youth is an investment in the future of this nation,” he stated.
