Former President Donald Trump has declared that he has been indicted on charges of mishandling classified documents at his Florida estate, marking a significant legal threat as he aims to regain the presidency.

Trump made the announcement on his Truth Social platform, accusing the Biden administration of corruption.

The U.S. Justice Department has yet to publicly confirm the indictment, but media reports suggest that Trump could face multiple counts, possibly as many as seven.

Trump, currently residing in Bedminster, New Jersey, revealed that his lawyers were contacted by prosecutors shortly before he disclosed the indictment on his social media platform.

According to an undisclosed source familiar with the situation, Trump’s attorneys were informed prior to the public announcement.

Trump has stated that he is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon in Miami.

Further updates on the situation are anticipated.
