Tropical Wave in Central Atlantic Eyes Midweek Development

0

NHC – A tropical wave, designated as AL95, is currently positioned several hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands in the central tropical Atlantic.

Over the past day, this system has exhibited improved organization, with showers and thunderstorms becoming better organized.

Meteorologists forecast favorable environmental conditions that are conducive to further development.

As a result, AL95 is expected to evolve into a tropical depression around midweek.

Furthermore, late in the week, additional strengthening is highly likely as the system continues its westward to west-northwestward track at speeds of 15 to 20 mph, traversing the central and western portions of the tropical Atlantic.

The formation chances for AL95 are assessed at 50 percent within the next 48 hours and a high probability of 90 percent within the next seven days, highlighting the growing concern surrounding this system’s potential impact.
