The Tropical Storm warning issued for Antigua & Barbuda yesterday could be discontinued as on 2 p.m today, Climatologist Dale Destin has said.
He said conditions may continue but are not expected to worsen as the island is impacted by Potential Tropical Cyclone 9.
“I anticipate, in terms of the windiness, that this weather will continue through to late this morning,” he said.
“We could drop the Tropical Storm Warning by 2 this afternoon, that still looks like the plan given how the conditions are panning out,” Destin said.
He said “conditions will continue, I don’t particularly expect them to get worse. You will see similar type conditions to what you have already experienced.”
Cloudiness and showers associated with Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine will continue to affect the Leeward Islands and British Virgin Islands.
Meanwhile the flash flood watch and the small craft warning remain in effect. Possible rainfall total for the forecast period is 50.2mm to 101.6mm or 2 to 4 inches.
