Tropical Storm Philippe Makes Landfall on Barbuda, Antigua Under Warning

NHC – Tropical Storm Philippe has made landfall in the Northern Leeward Islands, with Antigua now under a Tropical Storm Warning.

The storm, with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph, is moving northwest at 7 mph.

Heavy rains and potential flooding are expected as it passes near the northern Leeward Islands tonight.

Barbuda and Antigua may see 4 to 6 inches of rainfall, while the rest of the Leeward Islands could experience 2 to 4 inches, possibly leading to flash flooding.

Tropical storm conditions are imminent in the warning areas.

Life-threatening surf and rip currents are also likely.
