NHC – Tropical Storm Philippe continues to pose a significant flash flood threat to Antigua and Barbuda.

As of 500 PM AST, it was located at 16.4N 59.0W, approximately 160 miles east of Guadeloupe and 205 miles east-southeast of Barbuda, with sustained winds of 50 mph.

Philippe moves at a west-northwestward pace of 7 mph, with a northwestward track expected through Monday, followed by a northward motion on Tuesday.

While little change in strength is anticipated in the next 48 hours, the storm may intensify later in the week.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend up to 175 miles east of the center, bringing concerns of flash flooding, particularly in Barbuda and Antigua.

Life-threatening surf and rip currents are also expected along the Atlantic coasts of the northern Leeward Islands, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
