Tropical Storm Lorenzo Strengthens Over the Central Atlantic
Tropical Storm Lorenzo gained strength Monday morning as it continued moving northwest across the central tropical Atlantic, forecasters said. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHAT’S APP GROUP
The storm was centered about 1,150 miles (1,845 kilometers) west of the Cabo Verde Islands with maximum sustained winds near 50 mph (85 km/h), according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHAT’S APP GROUP
Lorenzo was moving northwest at about 16 mph (26 km/h), with a gradual slowdown expected through the night before turning north on Tuesday.

Forecasters said little change in strength is expected through early Tuesday, but some gradual intensification could occur by midweek.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend up to 160 miles (260 kilometers) from the center, and the minimum central pressure is estimated at 1002 millibars (29.59 inches).
No coastal watches or warnings were in effect.
