NHC – Tropical Storm Lee, situated at 13.2 degrees North and 41.8 degrees West, is rapidly intensifying, poised to become an extremely dangerous hurricane by the weekend.
With maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and a west-northwest movement at 16 mph, Lee is expected to maintain this trajectory with a slight reduction in speed.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles from its center.
No watches or warnings are currently in effect, but Leeward Islands residents should monitor its progress.
Lee is likely to reach hurricane status within days and could escalate to a major hurricane by Friday.
