ropical Storm Kirk has formed in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean.
Kirk is the eleventh named storm of the year.
At 11am, the storm was located 1,195 kilometres west-south-west of the Cabo Verde Islands.
Forecasters expect Kirk to become a hurricane by tomorrow and there is potential for it to become a major hurricane by midweek.

The US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) in its midday forecast said Kirk was packing maximum sustained winds which were 50 mph (85 km/h).
Kirk is expected to remain out in the open Atlantic.
