SOURCE: CBS 12 – The National Hurricane Center is monitoring an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave, invest 92L, in the eastern Atlantic, near the west coast of Africa.
Conditions are expected to be favorable for additional development over the few days as it moves across the main development region of the central Atlantic.
The National Hurricane Center says that a tropical depression is likely to form during the early to middle portion of next week while the system moves west.
Right now it has a 40 percent chance of development over the next two days and a 70 percent chance of development over the next seven days.
It’s not common for tropical formation to occur in the central Atlantic during June. Only three storms have developed in this region.
