ABMS – The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services has canceled the tropical cyclone alert for Antigua and Barbuda, the Leeward Islands, and the British Virgin Islands, as Hurricane Lee moves out of the monitored area.
However, vigilance remains high as Lee continues to strengthen, potentially reaching Category 5 within 24 hours.
Fortunately, Lee’s projected path is expected to keep the islands safe from hazardous winds, with storm force winds staying well away from the area.
Nevertheless, a significant threat looms in the form of above-normal swells, poised to impact northern and eastern shorelines from late Friday onward.
Rainfall predictions remain uncertain, with updates pending.Residents are encouraged to stay vigilant and prepared for the ongoing hurricane season.
