Antigua Transfers Trinidadian Fugitive; Court Orders Removal of Four Jamaicans
Antiguan authorities have transferred a Trinidadian national to officials from his home country after his arrest during a joint task force operation late Saturday.
Police identified him as Cornelius Thomas, 39, an assistant manager at the Boardroom nightclub on Nevis Street. He was detained over the weekend and is being returned to Trinidad and Tobago, where he is wanted in an ongoing criminal investigation.
Separately, four Jamaican citizens were ordered to leave Antigua and Barbuda after admitting in court that they overstayed their entry permits.

Senior Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel issued the removal orders after hearing guilty pleas from Marcel Parker, 34, an independent contractor living in Perry Bay; Kizzy Johnson, 36, a beauty professional from St. John’s Street; Javon Keroy Watson, 28, a carpenter from Bendals; and Luckicy Andra McDermott, 34, a barber residing in Yorks Village.
All five individuals are being held at the Immigration Detention Facility until they are scheduled to depart later this week.
Officials said the cases reflect ongoing efforts to reinforce border controls and ensure adherence to Antigua and Barbuda’s immigration rules.

Wow, so this man was working here all this time? Shows why proper checks at the borders are important. Anyone just come, get their passport stamp, cross customs and then live like a free man!
Sad to see so many people overstaying. The immigration laws are clear, just follow the procedures.
Yh that’s right start deport them rh..too much a dem yah
So you know antiguan lives here in our country
We never thought bad things of any of you
Sometimes I read some of you comments and it brakes my heart to see how we think and treat our own people…..am not saying they are right to over stay but my god there must be reasons…but we are one nation that always welcome any nation with open arms and treat them has our own…
I am one who Jamaican that doesn’t support any form of criminal activities and any form of wrong doing…you brake the law fine you will be punish…
They are there for reasons…but to say this to say that I have met alot of person that travel to antigua and barbuda …some say they never felt more racist from there own black people. And sometimes they travel there it’s hard even than bein here ….buy yet they want a new start…so they struggle….the things they give through at times it’s only god can tell….
You have employer’s who employed most of them that don’t want to sign there documents …yet they still work because they have children to support…what choices are they left with at time…some go through abuse molsted just to keep a job…it’s not all of us are criminals yet we are treated the same…and my god sometimes is the good ones you remove and you give the bad ones chances. Lol ….sometimes fine out there stories …before ar times you maybe saving a life …
This wanted person would not have been able to enter the country if CARICOM had inter agency criminal database that would have stored all the names of known criminals and the names of persons wanted for questioning in ongoing investigations…. But we are to quick say oh we are all black people….. what’s wrong with persons who claim they want a better life and aren’t following the laws of their host country!!! Now whatever you would have built is left for someone else because you couldn’t do the simplest thing!!
@ Bernard,
This is m a wow! situation that should not be.
I can point to at least 6 people in the Village arrives and lives a mysterious life.
We have sunmised these anre people who are wanted back in their homeland.
One of them we nickname “Tha Talaban”.
He works around The Village as a handyman carpenter, keeping a low profile.
We need ICE type agents in Antigua and Barbuda to get rid of fugitives who are making Antigua and Barbuda their home.
The list of unallocated is way longer
Antgua has become a safe haven for fugitive criminals. There are many more walking around freely, some continuing to commit crimes and getting away scot free!
What is sad, is that those who want to live and contribute are the ones who are being deported.
Those who terrorize us are left alone.
Immigration picked the low
Sorry for you but THE LAW IS THE LAW.
One by one get rid of the rotten elements
Them guys come in people country and making harder for everyone who genuinely are trying to make a better life. Smh
Commiting crimes in their country then running to another one to start over.
I’m happy he is being sent back to his homeland to face charges
Well, anyway Jamaicans treat Haitians like crap when they come to their shore on boats while they are fleeing gang violence. Jamaicans always think they’re in a better position than Haitians. But they never see news like this where Jamaicans are being deported from what they call small islands: Antigua, Trinidad, Curacao, Bahamas and so on. And it’s worth mentioning that they ain’t fleeing no political turmoil unlike Haitians. They always say they’re the capital of the Caribbean and everything is going great for them. Jamaicans do worse to Haitians
A plane load will eventually come when it gets closer to the general elections.
When u all don’t know the truth but it will be revealed soon
OECS not Jamaica and Trinidad.
