Top Cop Calls for Calm in St. Peter’s By-Election
Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney has urged political leaders and supporters to ensure a peaceful St. Peter’s by-election on January 14. Speaking on state media, he emphasized that the police are prepared to maintain order, having held discussions with the electoral commission.
“We do not want clashes, conflicts, or arguments—let’s ensure a peaceful by-election,” Rodney said, appealing for adherence to election rules.
The by-election will see Rawdon Turner of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) and George Whener of the United Progressive Party (UPP) contest the seat previously held by MP Asot Michael, who passed away in November after over two decades in office. Both candidates were officially nominated on December 31.

What nonsense. Do we have a history of political violence in Antigua? And this is an insignificant and one-sided by election. The Commissioner needs to stop with these red herrings to take away attention from his incompetence. Go and solve real crimes like all the unsolved murders. And what has become of traffic police? Are they only used for accidents and ticketing for illegal parking? We need a change.
No history of political violence whatsoever!
Maybe he worried about “Baldwin Spencer repeating his infamous instructions to the people: “SHARPEN U CUTLISS BACK & BELLY. CHAP DEM UP!!!!
tell that to the “SNIPER” who made a video with laser pointing at public figures vowing to take them out.
@Watching u forgot to add ME HAVE PLENTY GANG!! LMAO
oh yes! And then there is “WE ARE GOING TO HOUND YOU!!!” Baldwin Spencer to Asot Michael
Whatever we do in this life we must attempt to live our life in an exemplar,y fashion. The late honourable Asot Michael had his detractors but he was loved by his people. The people of St. Peters will decide the best person to represent them in Parliament and I would be surprised if it’s Mr. Winner. Mr. Turner has for all intent and purposes has served his constituents more in the footsteps of Honourable Michael. Mr. Weiner has too much unsavoury baggage that the people must sift through.
These ABLP paid operatives must be well paid. They don’t miss a beat! They pounce on any and everything and try to spin it in ABLP’s favour. Don’t be fooled by what they are saying or doing folks. Take it all for the general nonsense that it is. It’s all a job for them.
This incompetent police commissioner should be the first fired when the UPP wins the next elections. And will someone tell this fool he is not in Jamaican or Guyana.
Your last sentence is a shot at Richard Lewis JAMAICAN WIFE???

HOW SO?
Well everyone knows that:

(i) ‘…RAWDON TURNER: and
(ii) …GEORGE WEHNER’ not to have:
(a) ‘…CLASHES:

(c) …ARGUMENTS,’ [Paragraph 2].
SINISTERLY OR INSINUATINGLY SUGGESTIVE
These speak to something ‘…ILL-ADVISEDLY, or SINISTERLY SUGGESTIVE.’

QUESTION:
What the hell are these to do with:
(i) ‘…The ‘…ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA ELECTORAL COMMISSION (ABEC): and
(ii) …DISCUSSIONS REPORTEDLY HELD WITH THE ELECTORAL BODY [Paragraph 1].
(iii) …And just who guides the ‘…TOP COP,’ ‘…ABEC Chairman, IAN HUGHES?’
