Three people, including a teenager, are due in court today following a major firearms and ammunition bust in Sutherlands last week.
Daquan George, 30, Tanesha Martin, 27, and Taliek Aska, 19, face charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
The trio was arrested on Wednesday, 31 July, after officers from the Gang and Guns Suppression Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the area.
Police recovered a large cache of ammunition and firearm accessories, including multiple magazines and over 140 rounds in various calibres—ranging from 9mm to AK-47 rounds.
All three were taken into custody and are scheduled to appear before the Magistrate’s Court today, Wednesday, 6 August.

No bail, no lenient sentences please 🙏
Lil George Jr. you wanna be badman, y’all keeping up bare nonsense in this country.. go look hard work fu do…when you see you pardna Hezi just knock he wan slap for snitching on you so he can get a lighter sentence 😂😂
It’s only bullets? Distribution ? Nothing serious but a charge and done! People with heavier ammunition aren’t even charged heavily. Let them go!! Fine NOT confine!!
Pompey????? Has he been given some special or formal assignment regarding the granting of bail or lenient sentences????? What have we morphed into as a nation of law-abiding citizens???
And…..the cycle continues…..
This tip off bust makes no sense to me.
This is total useless if the police don’t use opportunities like these to find the bigger fish, they cannot be alone sourcing these goodies, they must be tied to a bigger link and the police needs to do their dyam job, this is nothing in my opinion.
Police, if you can’t find the link then you and the government obviously have some part to play in this nonsense that’s happening with the illegal importation of all these goodies.
The boats, the fancy yachts, the pilots, local ones too, are these handled properly ? I highly doubt, especially that deep water harbor and it’s high officials, that’s the only way things can pass freely, someone has to sign off on it, someone has to pass instructions, someone has to give the go ahead.
People of Antigua better wake up and check the facts.
