Three men have been arrested following an armed robbery at Brownie’s Bakery on Herberts Main Road.

Police say a masked gunman stole about $3,000 in cash around 8:20 AM after threatening bakery supervisor Tashua Benjamin with a handgun and ordering her to empty the register.

The suspect fled on foot but was later linked to a getaway car—a white Toyota Passo—stopped on Jonas Road.

Officers arrested 30-year-old Estevan Ernesto Lawrence of St Kitts, and Antiguans Morris Belgrave, 18, and Ryan Richards, 17. A large sum of cash was recovered.

The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue. The vehicle was also seized.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact them.

  1. Would really like to know how the Kittitian fits into this robbery scenario. Like we are now witnessing a cross border criminal and robbery setup. Dangerous pappy!

  2. Good job in detaining these vagabonds.

First deport the 30-year-old from St Kitts after he serve a stiff sentence; and then lock-up those two young Antiguans for being accomplices to this heinous crime. Then dash way the key.

You know what really breaks my heart with a lot of these recent crimes and misdemeanors?

I’ve noticed that 3-4 Antiguan businesses that have had break-ins in the last few years with attacks, robberies and gun crimes have closed and been rrplaced/taken over by other nationalities, and eroding more and more of the indigenous small businesses. So sad.

THIS CRIME WAVE IS HURTING US BAD, BAD, BAD!

We beg of you Gaston Browne, to address this dire situation now, before its too late …

  3. I they are found responsible, jail them for at least 10 years, then after serving their sentences deport the Kititian. Time to stop the slap on the wrist punishment

  4. The police should start doing profiling, anyone with hoodie or other device to conceal their identity should be photographed by the police, send out the police armed with digital cameras and depending on the character a body search is in order, and the police shall not tip toe around white people or Syrians etc, they too will be subjected to profiling, along with early morning raids aboard yachts on our waters, this is what obtains in the virgin islands and Puerto Rico and other parts of the world to combat gun and drugs and human smuggling. and no, the politicians that romanticize white people shall not interfere with the police carrying out their duty, if we can huff the alpha Nero boat we can conduct search for illegal guns and drugs on these boats. And second phase to our national security is the changing of all streetlights to solar powered LED combination camera sim equipped streetlights out of china, so that we will have cameras in every path of antigua to track criminal activities, the police will be able to solve crime and deter such feats. The government of the day has to give ears to these suggestions if they care for the people of this country.
