The UWI Five Islands Campus, Antigua and Barbuda, Friday November 7, 2025. — The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus will observe World Quality Week from November 10-14, 2025, joining the wider UWI community in commemorating the annual event under the theme “Quality: Think Differently.”

The week-long celebration, part of a global initiative hosted by the Chartered Quality Institute, will focus on continual quality improvement and encourage participation in quality assurance activities across the campus.

World Quality Week is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about the role quality management plays in manufacturing, healthcare, education and other sectors. In education, quality management focuses on improving teaching and learning by helping educators create effective curricula, assess student progress and enhance the overall educational experience.

The Five Islands Campus will host several activities throughout the week, including a digital launch of its “What Does Quality Mean to You?” campaign, a Quality Forum titled “Thinking Differently at Five Islands,” Quality Pop-Ups with daily spotlights, and a Quality Circle featuring a commitment wall.

“Maintaining robust quality management systems is essential as we prepare our students for the challenges of the 21st century, whether they become employees or entrepreneurs right here at home or across the globe,” said Campus Principal Prof. C. Justin Robinson. “In the face of AI and dynamic technology, we must uphold the high standards The UWI is known for while ensuring our teaching and learning as well as our research output addresses the critical issues faced by Small Island Developing States such as Antigua and Barbuda.”

The UWI commemorates World Quality Week annually to highlight its commitment to continual improvement and to engage the university community in quality assurance initiatives.
