The Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown hosts its 10th Annual Pediatric Village

The Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown proudly hosted its 10th annual Pediatric Village on September 21, 2024, at the Antigua Girls High School.

The well-being of the pediatric population remains a vital part of the Club’s commitment to the community, and is particularly demonstrated with this annual initiative offering free health checks to children between ages 3 and 11.

The Pediatric Village offered comprehensive health screenings, including weight, height, BMI assessments, vision and dental screening, and general wellness checks. Volunteer doctors, dentists, and eye specialists were on duty throughout the day to provide professional healthcare services.

Pastry Chef Maurine Bowers prepared healthy snacks and smoothies, and nutritionist Zoie Whyte gave valuable insights on healthy food choices and obesity management, providing invaluable dietary guidance to children and parents.

This year’s Pediatric Village would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors:

Director of Project Services, Dr. Jenelle Allen, said, “Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown is fully committed to the health of our children because they are our future. Happy, healthy children will make happy, healthy adults. Investing in our children’s health will ensure greater returns for Antigua and Barbuda. Thank you for coming out and supporting Rotary Sundown. It takes a village to raise a child.

The Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown extends its gratitude to the volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who participated in this year’s Pediatric Village. Together, we are making a lasting impact on the health and future of our nation’s children.
