The Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) acknowledges with deep sadness the passing of , KCN, a visionary hotelier and entrepreneur whose contributions to the tourism industry in Antigua and Barbuda have been monumental.
Sir Barrett’s death marks a pivotal moment in the history of our hospitality sector, and it is with profound respect that we honour his legacy.
Craig Marshall, Chairman of the ABHTA, expressed his condolences on behalf of the Association: “Sir Robert Barrett’s impact on the hospitality landscape in Antigua and Barbuda cannot be overstated.
His presence was larger than life, not just in his business acumen but in his generous spirit, always eager to share his expert knowledge of the industry.
His guidance was instrumental in shaping the ABHTA into what it is today. He was not only a leader in the industry but a mentor to many, constantly pushing the boundaries for the betterment of the hospitality sector.
As an organization, we recognize that his passing leaves an enormous void. However, his legacy is one that will live on in the countless professionals whose careers he helped to shape, in the businesses he nurtured, and in the generosity he extended to his community.
Sir Barrett’s vision for a thriving tourism industry has left us a solid foundation upon which we must continue to build.
At this critical juncture in our history, we pause to reflect and pay tribute to the profound impact Sir Barrett had on the lives of so many Antiguans and Barbudans.
His influence, expertise, and dedication have undeniably made our industry all the better. Sir Robert Barrett has left a legacy that will continue to inspire us all.”

The ABHTA collectively represents the hospitality industry by educating, advocating and promoting to increase visitation and the economic benefits for Antigua and Barbuda.
The primary focus is on the needs and best interests of the members of the Association. The membership of the Antigua & Barbuda Hotels & Tourism Association is open to all hotels, restaurants, airlines, and companies directly or indirectly involved in the tourism sector of Antigua and Barbuda.
