CLARIFIES PUBLICATION OF NAMES OF TEACHERS WITH UNCOLLECTED CHECKS
The Ministry of Education wishes to clarify the recent publication of the names of teachers with uncollected checks at the Ministry.
The sole purpose of releasing the names was to efficiently and directly inform affected teachers that their checks are ready for collection, ensuring that the ongoing industrial action ends.
Although the Ministry of Education has an internal mechanism to contact recipients, this process is sometimes slow and tedious; the publication of names was intended to complement this internal process.
The Ministry never intended to suggest that these checks had been left uncollected for an extended period or to cast any negative impression on the professionalism or diligence of our educators.
Indeed, the Treasury delivered some of these checks to the Ministry of Education only yesterday (Wednesday, May 7, 2025).
Our goal has always been to support our teachers and facilitate their smooth return to the classroom, where they continue to do the important and passionate work they love.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience or misunderstanding this may have caused. The Ministry deeply values the dedication and service of all educators, and we remain committed to continuing to work with A&BUT to resolve any outstanding matters swiftly and collaboratively.
Together, we will continue to build a strong and responsive education system that serves the best interests of our teachers, our students, and the nation as a whole.

The Ministry Information Machinery is dishonest. That is exactly the impression you gave that they were left for an extended period of time but it backfired. Always with a nasty agenda.
LIES LIES LIES.
The previous article, titled “Ministry of Education Publishes List of Teachers Whose Cheques Remain Unclaimed,” raises concerns about how the matter was handled. As the body responsible for teachers, the Ministry could have taken more effective and respectful steps—such as directly contacting each school with the names of the teachers involved or forwarding the list to the teachers’ union so it could notify its members. Instead, the decision to publicly publish the list seems like a deliberate attempt to shift blame onto the teachers. Ministry of Education, we expect better.
Well, you should not have used the word uncollected like if you had them for weeks or even months. Give me an aspirin. You were actually trying to portray a “negative impression on the professionalism or diligence of our educators” but it didn’t work. Who looks foolish now? Enquiring minds would like to know.
The publication of such a list is a grave mistake. The Ministry must have internal mechanisms to contact every teacher and that should have been used. To publish the teachers names and provide it to these social media forums is really a low blow to all the teachers so affected. Instead of seeking to explain the rational behind the publication, just admit that it was a mistake and a misstep and move on. The teachers are displeased.
So wait they could not just put out that the teachers could call and see if there cheque is there or say we got some cheque yesterday call us to speed up the process and see if your name is there . You think if they have money there they would a leave it there in this guava time oh please
Ministry of Education you could send the information to the schools via the principal and the information would have past on to the teachers.
Just collect the damn cheques please….
I wonder what would happen if ALL teachers send in their resignation?
