The court will decide tomorrow whether Alexta Francis, who admitted to murdering MP Asot Michael, will stand trial in the High Court.

Francis, 26, remains in maximum security at HMP after confessing to the November 5 killing. Michael’s maids found his body in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds. A family insider described the attack as brutal, with part of the weapon embedded in his body and his teeth knocked out.

Reports indicate Francis and his mother have received death threats, raising security concerns for the hearing. Scotland Yard is assisting the investigation.

Michael’s murder is unprecedented in Antigua and Barbuda, as he was a sitting MP. If convicted, Francis could face life imprisonment or the death penalty.

  1. Is it true that Asot Micheal was scheduled to go to the UK in March to answer to charges that might have, could have, would have, possible have implicated the PM??? mmmmmm 🤔

  2. So who is going to protect the mother? She should suffer for her sons actions? And it is known that he has security, so how did one man pass everyone and enter Asot Michael’s home without being seen entering, during the attack and leaving. He had help.
So nobody hear him scream? Only saw him lying in the pool of blood after? So many unanswered questions don’t add up.

  3. Accountability is crucial, and it is reassuring to know that the person responsible for this horrific act will be facing justice. However, this case highlights deeper issues, including potential lapses in law enforcement and security measures. Authorities must take a hard look at how to better protect individuals, especially high-profile figures, to prevent such tragedies from recurring.

  4. This case raises concerns about security for public officials and citizens alike—more must be done to prevent such violent incidents in the future.

  5. For the people that are commenting and thing that there should be Leniency towards this serial killer needs to live amongst him in the village in which he was raised and lived, what so we death threats against him and his mother maybe justified since she is a beholder and beneficiary of his criminal proceeds, she has been standing between him and law enforcement from since he was a youth attending the Golden Grove Primary School that he was expelled from, this man is a true menace to Society and should be investigated further for other heinous crimes within the village itself, so no please hold your sympathy for this serial K, death penalty is the only way

  6. Just watch his face. Bug Dutty Stupesss. Why are you crying? Ah? Why? Why are tears rolling down your hard evil face? When you were stabbing my MP you weren’t crying? Ah? I hope you get the death penalty. Life for a Life

  7. The Fall-guy! What is his gang affiliations? A contracted hit? How is this case tied to the slaughtered girl on the beach behind Asot’s fortified Palace and the missing s’him? Many are saying that the murder of the girl on the runaway beach was a Ritual killing. Is the recent death of a family member from another redussah clan a suicide? Guilt is a killer.
If he gets the death penalty he can sing like a Robin because he’ll be a walking dead. Also all other convicted murderers must be put to death too.

  8. Good night not defending this youth but truth must be told. His mother never spared him from the law. Secondly he never attended the Golden Grove Primary. He attended Jennings Primary then went on to Jennings Secondary. I know because I thought at Jennings Primary, while he was there. It is disheartened to see that such a brutal crime has been committed. Things just don’t add up. Let justice takes it course. The MP family needs question answered and closure.

  9. Death penalty you are entitled to your opinion. I’m not defending the youth but investigate before you post false news. Number one if blow could’ve turn you into a Christian he would be one. His mother don’t spare him from bad behaviour or the law. You give a child everything all to a mind. Secondly that young man never attended Golden Grove Primary School. He went to Jennings Primary then unto Jennings Secondary, which he did not complete. I know this because I taught at Jrnnings Primary while he was there. Justice must be served the MP’s family need questions answered and closure.
