Tevaughn Harriet Denounces Defamatory Allegations Amid UPP Campaign
St. John’s, Antigua – Former United Progressive Party (UPP) caretaker Tevaughn Harriet has issued a statement rejecting claims made against him during the party’s campaign. Harriet described the allegations as false and damaging to his reputation.
According to the statement, Harriet was accused of being involved in fraudulent activities – allegations he firmly denies. He stated that he has never been arrested, detained, or charged in connection with any fraudulent activity, calling the claims baseless and misleading.
Harriet criticised the impact of these statements, noting the harm caused to his personal and professional reputation. He urged members of the UPP to cease making defamatory remarks, warning that failure to retract and correct these allegations could lead to legal action.
The former caretaker attributed his removal from the St. Peter constituency to his support for Richard Lewis as Party Leader during the UPP convention. Despite this, Harriet said he remains committed to serving the people of St. Peter and contributing to their development.
Harriet also addressed his previous silence on internal party issues, explaining that he sought to avoid further division within the UPP. However, he stated that the ongoing attacks on his character could not go unanswered and promised to respond fully in the near future.
In closing, Harriet expressed gratitude to his supporters, particularly those who have defended him during what he described as challenging times.
The UPP has not yet responded to Harriet’s claims.

No, they will not go quietly. That is what you all want.
This problem with the UPP will never be solved until the ones who did all the nasty work going all the way back to the 2019 convention and worse the last one come clean or are exposed.
Everyone knows you do not put a bandage on a sore that needs to be cleaned and treated.
That is why there is so much confusion in the UPP. Many know that there were bad things done and they must be put right.
Gisele and her people spread the word that Richard Lewis was mashing up the party knowing that that was not so. It is coming back to haunt them.
Many who support Gisele and Pringel know what happened but they are very anxious to have healing without treatment. Life is not like that.
There will be no peace in the UPP until there is cleansing. Peter Reds is not trying to go to Labour. All he is saying is that his troubles began when he supported Lewis, as did other members troubles. Some had enough and left, and some are still in the party.
Wehner is not the future, Reds is. They forced him out and I hope the voters in St Peters deal with Wehner for all the nastiness and discord he spread in the UPP.
Remember him with the tek arf shut and running up and down in front of Lewis branch people saying “tek dat inna aryuh nenen”?
When oh when will the leadership if the UPP see that they are confining the nation to five more years of hardship under the rule of Gaston Browne. A calypsonian said, “something sweet in dey”. What is it? Are they working for the Labour Party? The so called leader knows that he is not suited for the job. Why is he allowing educated people with degrees in the party expose his foolery? They believe that when a member leaves it is him alone. No. Every member who leaves is multiplied by ten. The UPP needs to replace that one person by registering eleven to balance it out. Are they so happy with power in opposition???.

I had told Peyer Redz in a private conversation a few years ago that the UPP will eventually throw him up and spit him out. He was not supported during the Jan 2023 elections. They were supporting Asot over him.
I also told Lovell in 2017 that the demise of the UPP would come at the current chairlady and the the grey bearded lawyer. Now, we’re here in the reality of my predictions.
