Ten grams, three plants not enough says rasta elder

Rastafarian Elder Franklyn King Frank-I Francis has said that government’s proposal to allow only three marijuana plants per household is inadequate.

Francis who is also a member of the national marijuana commission told a consultation earlier today “no less than five plants” should be the standard.

That’s two plants more than what the government is prosing to read into law soon.

Frank-I who is also Ambassador to Ethiopia told the consultation that he believes five plants is “a reasonable amount” for people over the age of 18 to use/grow in the privacy of their homes.

The rasta elder also said he does not agree that the 10 grams being proposed for decriminalisation is sufficient.

“I smoked ten grams for the morning already,” he told the consultations.

Francis told those gathered that “I don’t see how you could look into something and even in the terms of reference you are suggesting an amount.

“First of all small is a relative term and what might be small to me might not be small to somebody else,” he added.

Among other proposals by Francis is the establishment of a licensing board “to license producers and sellers of the particular commodity.”

“I propose the creation of a medical board to access the various medicinal aspects that can be made from it and also the establishment of an industrial board,” Francis recommended.
