The Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority (ABAA) wishes to advise the public of a temporary disruption to Amerijet’s scheduled cargo operations at VC Bird International Airport.
Amerijet’s ground handler, a privately owned entity, has reported that it is awaiting a replacement part for its main Deck Loader, a critical piece of equipment used in the safe and efficient unloading of cargo.
The delay in Amerijet service was directly related to the unavailability of this specialized equipment.
Amerijet plays a vital role in supporting both public and commercial cargo needs, and ABAA appreciates the community’s patience and understanding during this brief interruption.

The ground handler has indicated that the replacement part was expected to arrive today, Wednesday. Once installed, the Deck Loader will be restored to full operational capacity, allowing for the resumption of regular cargo services.
ABAA continues to work closely with all stakeholders to facilitate a swift and seamless return to normal operations and thanks everyone for their patience and understanding.

This excuse was used a little over a month ago. The next day Amerijet came in. Antigua is not a priority and it shows. People want their packages.
Sheiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnn
The deck loader has been down since last week , so nothing at all could be done by any of the other airlines to facilitate the off loading of the E-Containers ….
The part of Amerijet that got me angry, is (REDACTED) was allowed to take over Amerijet handling, the government couldn’t help no black Antiguan to take it over ,the one percenters are entitled. Had it been another handler this parts would have been procured,
Oh is dem dey handle the operations?
Hope the part is not coming with Amerijet! Funny enough, people will still have jobs and contracts after this fiasco. An entire nation incapable of removing a pallet from a plane!
We want a discount on our packages
This is overbearing
lol exactly!!!!!
Did I miss the story or is the headline the story
Glad the disruption is temporary. Hope operations resume quickly to prevent delays in essential cargo
Good afternoon @Eldread I understand your frustration, but just to clarify, Automotive Art and Mr. Shoul are not involved with Amerijet’s operations.
The handling of Amerijet is being managed by InterFreight.
@Rico Strong.
The E-containers are shipped on pallets which still have to be offloaded. Would still need the loader to safely be able to handle multiple pallets at a time.
@ Eldread
Shoul at Automative Arts is not the handler. You only collect and pay for your paperwork there. They have nothing to do with scheduling or offloading the aircraft.
Ground handling and receiving docs are two separate things.
I don’t understand why you would think that the government could award them Amerijet.
Maybe a group of black Antiguans could make a proposal to Amerijet?
Glad the problem is being fixed today. Hope everything returns to normal quickly for the businesses that depend on it.
Mechanical issues happen. Good to hear the part is coming today and operations will resume soon.
Temporary? This thong is over a week now….lots of school items for children going back to school. Please y’all get it fixed, people can’t spend money twice.
Where is the story people
So today is Thursday August 28. They stated the part is coming Wednesday that was yesterday so is it fixed. Cause my mother’s body is being delayed from going to Antigua cause of this, and I need to put my mother to rest.
