Six masked men robbed a group of teenagers at gunpoint near the Cashew Hill playing field, according to a report filed with the CID by Jacqueline Quezada. Her 16-year-old son, Joel Toussaint, was among the victims.
Dressed in black and armed with handguns, the men confronted the group and ordered Toussaint off his bicycle. He surrendered two bikes—one blue 24-frame valued at $800 ECC and another black-and-blue 20-frame worth $1,000 ECC. The suspects then fled north.
Police responded swiftly but have yet to make any arrests.

A friend of mine recently raised this issue and I think that our legislators really need to act on it. Ski masks or hoodies as we commonly call them should be banned. Many persons who keeps them in our climatic conditions, does so only for nefarious reasons. They have become the defacto uniform for those who commit retail thefts, armed robberies and other criminal activities. The disguise makes crimes scarier and perpetrators more difficult to identify which of course is the point. Just as the authorities have banned ordinary citizens from wearing camouflage garbs, the authorities and the police need to take action against hoodies.
just another day on a ghetto village in Antigua …the bandits are getting bolder
Look at how these teenagers are even at risk. Nobody is safe in this little box of a country and we never hear anything from government and authorities
This is why these young men usually walk around with knives! Robbing teens at gun point? Thats hilarious

That is probably the worst thing a law maker can do for multiple reasons:
1. Banning hoodie or ski mask are not going to stop crimes I don’t know what reason specifically caused camo it be banned but obviously it means nothing since only crime I could think of being used is illegal weed farms in the bush, but suprise they still exist
2. So what you ban them again it doesn’t stop anything because you can just put it on before you do the crime because every house have a hoodie and you can just make a mask.
3. There is no brick wall stopping you from putting it on anyways and doing crimes, stealing is illegal it doesn’t stop people from stealing
4. You can just wear literally anything else and cover your face with cardboard, plastic, bandana, shirt, literally any cloth.
If you want to end crimes just take away the causes for someone to do crimes such as poverty.
The problem is that the SSU, the mobile black uniformed Police unit, is badly understaffed. This is the unit that hunts them down. But once again, the Police Administration does not have a clue and we have a waste of time Minister of Justice, who is both incompetent and indifferent. He has a Police driver and Police guard at his mansion. The only way we will get a handle on crime is if the PM takes over the portfolio. In the meantime, all of us who live here need to be more security conscious and I once again make a call for a vigilante group of licensed firearm holders to go out at night and do what has to be done and what the Police cannot do. I say catch them and kill them. They serve no useful purpose.
