Teen Remanded to Rehabilitation Centre on Multiple Traffic Charges

A 17-year-old male has been remanded to the Denis Bowers Rehabilitation Centre after appearing before the Child Justice Board earlier this week on a series of traffic-related offences.

The teenager is charged with driving without a valid driver’s licence, operating a vehicle without insurance coverage, and the fraudulent use of a registration plate. He is to remain in custody until November 17, when the case is expected to be heard.

Police said the offences occurred on October 13 and involved a white 2011 Honda Fit that was intercepted during operations in St. John’s aimed at tackling crime. Following an investigation, the teen was taken into custody and charged over the weekend.

The Police Administration has since reiterated its warning to motorists to ensure their vehicles are properly licensed and insured, emphasizing that compliance with traffic regulations is critical to maintaining road safety and preventing accidents.
