Fifteen-year-old Jackiem Gordon of Golden Grove is currently being treated for serious stab wounds at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.
He was rushed to the hospital after reportedly being stabbed multiple times in the waist during an altercation at Cashew Hill.
Sources say a fight broke out among a group of young men gathered at a well-known hangout spot in the area. During the scuffle, another teen allegedly attacked Gordon with a pair of scissors.
Authorities are investigating the incident.

You know sometimes we read or hear of these incidents and as humans we are quick to blame the young ones involved, their parents, or the government of the day for their behavior…. but then again, it’s not only happening in Antigua. It’s happening all over the Caribbean, the world. This is a global problem that needs to be addressed internationally. The music they listen to, the freedom of social media, peer pressure, social influencers are all to be blamed for what’s going on with our youths today. There’s way too much anger

When I read of the governments amnesty, I wondered why it was restricted to guns as stabbings are at an all time high too!
Which teenager growing up has not had a fight or 2, but to take scissors or a knife to stab someone is awful, although the perpetrators will say it’s to defend themselves in case they are attacked.
May God have mercy on Antigua and Barbuda, and on persons who are doing what they think is right in their own eyes! Jesus soon come!
This is soo sad . Violence is the thing of the day when it comes to our youths . I agree with the comments , put God first, home discipline, the kind of company they keep . Some of us parent leave our children to raise themselves, train a child in the way they should go , when they’re old they will not depart from it .Remember Satan find work for idle hands to do.
Parent please pay attention! You can be a single parent and raise good children, I did raised five beautiful children, thank God . Remember at a early age to expose them to God and his will , .anything else will fail!
The perpetrator will be swiftly and harshly dealt with by the courts. He would’ve been revered and exonerated if he stole millions of dollars from the State.
