A 14-year-old boy has been charged with carrying an offensive weapon after being found with an imitation firearm in Lightfoot.
The incident happened around 10:20pm on 28 June, according to police.
The teenager was arrested at the scene and is expected to appear before the court at a later date.

After this case is concluded, the young offender needs to be given several hard lashes with a cowhide strap and lectured on the perils of actions such as the one he is accused of performing.

I detest his action but it’s less problematic for the society if he possesses a fake/ imitation gun that a ‘hot firearm’.
@Rovi…. No, it is NOT less problematic. A fake gun being used in committing an offence is just as bad as a real gun. That is why the law makes a crime to use a fake gun to commit a crime. And if you doubt this, pull a fake gun on someone who has a real one and see how it ends. Do you think the one with the real gun will go to jail? Nope, they won’t because they had reasonable cause to believe you intended to kill them.
Imitation you said? So you’re practicing until you put your hands on or the real thing. This is a serious problem and should be treated as such . Help us lord , what’s happening with our youths? Around the corner do not look good Ohoo!!!!
Boy has time change.As a child during christmas , we used to buy toy guns and play cowboys and Indians. Our society is so messed up that an imitation gun is now an offence.
Charge him as an adult. The Juvenile Act in Antigua is of no use. Juvenile are the leading criminals in this country. Stop playing with them. Send them to jail or jail their parents.
