JAMAICA OBSERVER- A 17-year-old student is among three men who are being sought in connection with the killing of two policemen on Waltham Park Road in St Andrew on Thursday night.

The teen, who is of a Waltham Park Road address, was listed as wanted along with 20-year-old Macarius Munroe, otherwise called ‘Mackie’ from Ricketts Crescent, Kingston 13 and Junior Brown, 20, from Seaward Drive, Kingston 11.

The men are instructed to turn themselves in to the police by 6 pm Friday.

The deceased cops, Constable Jemarey Gordon, assigned to CTOC and Constable Charles Stewart from the St Catherine North Division, were shot dead during an altercation with several men shortly before 8 pm.

Reports indicated that the cops were in conversation with the men at a business place, when an altercation ensued.

During the altercation, the police said, one of the men pulled a firearm and fired several shots at both policemen, hitting them in their upper bodies. The suspects then fled the area on foot.

Residents assisted the injured cops to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH), where the lawmen died while undergoing treatment.

Police investigations have so far revealed that the three men, who are alleged members of the Dust City Gang, are also reportedly part of a car-stealing ring operating within the Corporate Area.

The men allegedly stole a white 2015 Toyota Allion car Thursday and parked it along Waltham Park Road. Police confirmed the theft was reported to the Cross Roads Police Station.

Police disclosed that Brown and Munroe were taken into custody at the Duhaney Park Police Station earlier this year on suspicion of murder.

Munroe was also taken into custody last May after a vehicle, in which he was travelling, was found to have a device used in the stealing of cars.

Brown was detained at the Hunts Bay Police Station and processed after twenty-five 9mm cartridges and three magazines were discovered on the premises he occupied.
