Suspects to Be Arrested in Chantel Crump Murder Case, Says Acting Police Commissioner
Acting Commissioner of Police Everton Jeffers has confirmed that the individuals believed to be responsible for the murder of nine-year-old Chantel Crump will be formally arrested today. Addressing a crowd gathered outside the Police Headquarters on American Road, Jeffers assured the public that justice will be served.
“We believe the person or persons responsible for this crime are already in custody,” Jeffers stated. “Sometime today, they are going to be arrested. There is a procedure that must be followed before they can be brought before the court.” He emphasized that while the police have done their part, the case must now proceed through the legal system.
Jeffers acknowledged the grief and frustration felt across the nation, recalling his emotional response upon meeting Chantel’s father. “I know many of you are hurting and have shed tears—I have shed tears too,” he said. “When her father came to the police station yesterday and told me she was his daughter, I cried. I told him that I am going to solve this matter.”
He assured residents that despite the pain, the police remain committed to delivering justice. “Yes, you are suffering, and I am suffering too. But the system must run its course. We have done our work, and now the court will take it from here,” he explained.
A Call for Continued Support
Jeffers, who was born and raised in the Grace Farm community, spoke of his deep personal connection to the area and its people. “Grace Farm is my home. I have blocks in different parts of Grace Farm, and I support the clinic there. I am not ashamed of where I come from,” he declared.
He credited the community’s involvement in helping law enforcement make progress in the case. “It is because of some of you standing here today that we were able to crack this case. With your continued support, we will make further inroads in fighting crime,” he said.
As the investigation continues, Jeffers urged patience and cooperation, reaffirming his commitment to maintaining law and order. “I am not running. If I wanted to be overseas, I would have left already. But this is my home, and I have to work for the peace and tranquility of this country,” he stated.
The public remains eager for justice, with growing calls for swift and firm legal action against those responsible for Chantel’s tragic death.

This seems much worse than it what is on the surface. I wouldn’t be surprised if the suspects “commit suicide” (killed in jail) just to keep her/them quiet to protect others in high places.

This commissioner can do well if they become militant and function on the laws in the book instead a politician edicts, I am waiting for the first commissioner to lock up or investigate a politician. I would go home a hero to the nation trying.
