  1. AUA gives no support to their students.

Just constant threats of being kicked out.

And of course taking all your money.

    • The person is still an AUA student. Friends and professors are undoubtedly shocked and saddened that one of their colleagues died and even worse possibly by suicide.

  2. This is a harsh reality. AUA administration most likely is the reason why this student committed suicide. They care nothing about the lives of their own. Many former and current students can agree to this. There was another case like this not too long ago that hasn’t really been mentioned. AUA NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE!!!!!

    • So you’re blaming and institution for you trying to put your body where you head can’t pass. Suicide is always about succumbing to pressure the individual chooses not to live with. Humility is the key and the individual is to blame as its always a case where they put themselves in the position its a hard pill to Swallow but unless its a mental illness the person committing suicide is normally selfish and less we forget judas did the same

      • SHUT up if you knew the problems this school give the students. they must be paying you because even the ones that pass the program will let you know the school will drive u crazy because they dont do guide you or teach you what you need but blame you for anything but want to take credit when you do well and blame you when you fail. sooooo please tell me how is it the students fault paying all this money for no guidance again

      • STFU . Do you know the ins and outs of being a medical student? Noo bitch so stfu . Many if not all AUA students have stellar backgrounds. Because of limited seats in U S. Schools students try and pursue dreams elsewhere.. AUA does not provide the same experience as a US student gets. AUA students have a more difficult journey. The faculty is comprised of brilliant Indian natives. They are brilliant in the subject matter but not good lecturers . Some of the faculty are retired American professionals. None of them are young American graduates. Students are set up to fail from the onset. The lack of support from the administration is overwhelming. The education department is full of people that never been in medical schools and don’t know how to guide students. You have a extremely big chance of failing. So the STFU because you have never stepped foot in a medical school and never will.

  3. Hold these Indians accountable for how they treat these young people while on our shores that result in such devastating mental health consequences. It doesn’t matter where the event terminated, they started here. Such a tragic event.

  4. AUA has been horrible to their student i know med school is not supposed to easy but they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR STUDENTS WELLBEING AND SUCCESS THEY ARE JUST MONEY HUNGRY ACCEPTING OVER 100 INCOMING STUDENTS EVERY YEAR. GIVE THEM EXAMS AND NOT OVER THE MATERIALS THEY COVERED. THE PROFESSORS WHO TEACHES THE CLASSES ALWAYS CONTRADICT THE ADMIN OVER WHO PICKS THE QUESTION FOR EACH EXAM. that school will drive anyone to the extream. they HAD THE NERVE TO EMAIL THE STUDENTS ON NOT TO BELIEVE OR SPREAD RUMORS BECAUSE IT CAN BE FAULSE WHEN EVERYTHING THATS IS BEING SAID IS TRUE THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO PLAY VICTIM WHILE SOMETHING THIS TRAGIC HAPPENED TO ONE OF THE STUDENTS. THEY NEED TO BE VETTED THOROUGHLY THEY ARE CORRUPTED AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT CASH AND THEIR REPUTATION FOR FUTURE BUSINESS.

  5. For those who are wondering how she’s a student but it didn’t happen in Antigua. Some students have being given the opportunity to take their course remotely for varying reasons. This is one such case

  6. THERE WERE TWO students DEATH in the span of 2 WEEKS!. AUA have the audacity to send an email 1am in morning telling students to be in hush mode. AUA should be held accountable at ALL cost for the lives, and empty promises. However, in life have the right to choose. Succumbing to pressure to become a doctor is another. Caribbean schools are a BIG RIP_OFF!!-period. They accept 600 students every semester knowing only/maybe 50 will make it out. A billion dollar institutions run by foreign professors, can’t understand what language they speaking during lectures. AUA motto teach yourself, but pay up 30K per semester. Over-prize Antiguan apartment with additional electric charge at $600/mo. Push students to report to the Island knowing it’s a LEVEL 4 COVID country to build revenue. Meanwhile their counterparts SGA etc giving students the option to remain remote-due to hardship. AUA don’t give a DAM!! Some students are paying $1200/mo rent. Out of sight out of mind-many are living off credit cards and student loans and will be in MEGA debt after this. To become a doctor-Another hurdle everyone wants to practice in the great USA-
foreigners you name it. So little spots for Residency. Real awakening awaits all in the end. DEBT and SUICIDE are looming! Again the right to choose is yours-RIP!!.

  7. AUA 2021-Last week (a student) passed away. This week another a 2nd student. With CAS3 looming. The push to report to Island asap. Admin sending letters for students to book flight ASAP or get threatened. Knowing well COVID is still a thing. The LIES that no COVID cases is on the Island is another issue. AUA should be investigated, if not a lawsuit from the victims families. Off shore, so lawyers can’t touch them I suppose.

    • Aua seem to be an administration full of bullies by what you are telling me, but they know students need them to fulfill their dreams of being doctors.

      • I can say this there was a memo sent, regarding AUA students constantly on roof tops on campus. Read between the lines

  8. I really just wanted to remind everyone to focus on the fact that we lost a student. At the current moment, we do not 100% know the cause of death and whether the student died by suicide, so it’s important that we remind ourselves not to jump to conclusions without knowing really what happened. Please take a second to think about what you are posting before actually submitting the comment here, or on social media. Second, I respect everyone’s view of what a mental illness is, or their perspectives of suicide, specifically because different cultures have different perspectives. However please remember that we never ever know what has happened to someone during their lifetime, nor do we know if and when someone is in extreme distress, or is struggling for a short- or long-period of time. Suicide is definitely more complex than we think. Therefore, I would encourage everyone to approach the topic of suicide (and especially when talking about the individual who may have died by suicide) with absolute compassion – something our entire world needs a bit more of nowadays. Let’s approach this with respect for the family and the individual, and focus on the bottom line, which is that we unfortunately lost a fellow student.

(This does not mean that we should not be upset and wonder what the heck happened, and what could have been done to prevent this – this is natural for us to question. Nor does this mean that we should be quiet about the issue of suicide – in fact, we should be far more open about it so that everyone knows they are not alone. Every individual deserves the appropriate help and care!)

    Much love everyone!

  9. AUA is a hard school and the teachers there are mostly Indian scholars. They come from a strict background. They accept so many students with not many graduating, and the ones who do well are the top scorers. My friend transferred from AUA to a DO program and said the DO program was EASIER than AUA. This is the reality of these schools. If you go, you need to make sure you know you can academically do well. Please save yourself any hardships if you are having issues, it is okay to not continue to avoid any mental health problems.

  10. AUA Faults-bloods on AUA hands for the 2 students. Unfortunately many will follow, due to what AUA has been up to lately. Accepting students by the droves with no housing, and tell students to fen for themselves in the middle of an exam week. This should be investigated. But Antiguan government will do nothing, because has money in the pot as well. How ironic to run a Medical School under the guise to help others’ well being. Yet Admin doesn’t give a damn about your well-being. Grab student money (most on student loans) and run.
