Receipts

To all suppliers

As the Christmas shopping season intensifies, the Prices and Consumer Affairs Division informs all suppliers and vendors that under Section 61 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2025, receipts must be given for all sale transactions $10.00 or more.

The receipt must clearly state the supplier’s name, address, date of the transaction, description and quantity of the goods, and the total amount paid.

Any supplier or vendor who fails to provide a receipt as required under the Act commits an offence, and is liable upon conviction to a fine, not exceeding

$2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both such fine and imprisonment.

The Division extends warm wishes to all suppliers and vendors for a joyful and safe festive season.
