The ship, loaded with 100 vehicles, encountered a sudden wind shift from northeast to southeast while departing Deep-Water Harbour. This unexpected gust pushed the vessel toward another ship.

The pilot and captain’s decisive action to accelerate forward prevented a collision, landing the ship on a mud bank outside the channel.

With additional port assistance, the vessel was freed and inspected, revealing no damage.

The ship then continued to St. Kitts.

Telemaque highlighted the challenges pilots face, such as weather conditions and navigating grounded vessels, noting that under local laws, the pilot is not liable for such incidents, but the master and captain are responsible.
