Residents traveling along All Saints Road have been startled in recent days by the sudden emergence of a massive statue towering above the treetops, its origins and meaning still unclear.
The figure, sculpted with a helmet-like headpiece and a skirted lower half, stares out with defined facial features and folded arms that suggest authority. Set on a high platform with scaffolding still in place, the structure dominates the landscape and is visible from a distance.
Inquiries revealed the installation belongs to Elder Claude Weaver of the Glorious Hope Church, which sits nearby. Weaver would not elaborate on the purpose of the monument but said he intends to share details soon.
Reaction has been swift. Some residents say the image calls to mind biblical visions, while others are skeptical. Bishop Charles Browne voiced concern, questioning why such a monument would be introduced at this moment.
“With all that’s going on in the country and the world, I don’t know why it is necessary,” Browne said. “Whether it is the image that King Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream… We don’t know.”
Until Weaver provides an explanation, the towering figure has become a subject of speculation, with some seeing a work of devotion or art and others dismissing it as a misplaced symbol.

Keep quiet, Antigua don’t have no land marks but the last one done by the man along tyrells highway refered to as the” boat house” Antigua got nothing else but colonial landmark like nelson dockyards and everything British.
Mr Weaver is a visionary, and also this man the late jurie Martin attempted to make landmarks but never have the technical labor force to do so, even the late V.C Bird tried to bring some sort a land mark to Antigua by erecting the arch at east bus station, but it was done by comrades who didn’t have the technical capacity but wanted the money creating an overweight concrete unstable structure, had it been done with aluminum sheeting it would be there today as a monumental land mark done by the father of the nation.
I am not for no colonized religion or god, but Mr Weaver is bringing development to Antigua, none a the white investors is going to do this, they develop themselves with our land resources for wealth extraction, Mr Weaver has contributed to this country.

@ Eldread: It is true that it can be used as a landmark of interest for both the locals & tourists. However, erecting a landmark of such without the nation knowing it’s meaning, certainly defeats the purpose. Is it a paganistic monument. Enquiring minds would like to know.
Remember in Daniel chapter 3 when they had that statue the king ask people to bow down and worship the idol and when the boy didn’t he throw them in the furnace we have to be very careful these are the last days ,and also he invited people in high places take note people we have to pray without ceaseing

This is a monument relates to the scripture or book of Daniel. It symbolize a dream from a king and Prophet Daniel was one who can interpret it. Interpretation is the different kingdoms that rise and fall on this earth and it says which kingdom conquer the other but also there’s is a prophesy that is now fullfilling which is the clay at the feet. This represents the church but also says how clay was mix with iron and that is the church today mixing with Roman ideology. There is one kingdom that will break this monument and that is the kingdom of Jesus Christian. Anyways its very interesting…we should not worship this monument for those who do not know what it is nor have it here. I disagree with the person who made it

Didn’t y’all go to Sunday school? The image is from a vision, given to king Nebuchadnezzar and interpreted by Daniel (in chapter 2) as foretelling the fate of the world until Jesus returns. Right now we are between the legs of iron (Roman empire) and the last kingdom, which will have an element of Roman influence. This will be followed by Jesus’s return.

Not sure the purpose of this statue whose image is clearly related to the Neo- Babylonian empire(Nebuchadnezzar) What I know for a certainty is that we are living in the very last days of Earth’s existence as we know it..Very interesting though that this would be placed there in connection with a “Church” -just what is it it’s creator is trying to depict is the million $ question..
