Students from the Interact Clubs of St Joseph’s Academy and Christ the King High School have made a donation to the paediatric ward at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, providing items aimed at improving patient comfort and care.

The donation included clocks, kettles, crib sheets and other essential supplies for use by young patients at the hospital.

The students were accompanied by Rotarian Evangeline Allen and formally presented the items to Registered Nurse and Unit Manager Zena Knight Barnes, along with Registered Nurse Karen Jacobs.

Hospital staff welcomed the contribution, noting that the donated items will help enhance the environment and daily care within the paediatric unit.

The initiative forms part of the Interact Clubs’ ongoing commitment to community service and youth-led philanthropy.
