Vermont Woman Accused of Burning 12-Year-Old Granted Bail After Prosecution Withdraws Objection
Josette Garraway, the Vermont woman facing charges of burning a 12-year-old girl, has been granted bail by Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne.
She was given bail in the amount of EC$12,000 with one surety, following the prosecution’s withdrawal of its objection to bail.
Garraway had been in custody since late August, and the prosecution had initially objected to her release due to the child’s hospitalization.
The court ordered that Garraway have no contact with the child, imposed reporting conditions, and required her to surrender her travel documents.
The case has been adjourned until November 27, 2023, and all children in Garraway’s care, including a baby under 1 year old, are now in state custody.
