Dr. Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, will assume the chairmanship of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) during the 73rd meeting held in his home country.
The meeting will commence with an opening ceremony on Sunday, June 18, where Dr. Drew and other speakers will address the attendees at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Auditorium.
This gathering not only marks the 73rd meeting of the OECS Authority but also commemorates the 42nd anniversary of the sub-regional grouping, which was established on June 18, 1981.
Under the theme ‘Vision. Integration. Sustainability.’, Saint Kitts and Nevis will host various celebrations from June 13 to June 19.
Key topics to be discussed by Dr. Drew and his fellow OECS colleagues include regional integration, security, healthcare, and renewable energy.
The OECS, as a global intergovernmental organization, strives to foster regional integration among Eastern Caribbean nations, enabling them to collaborate on trade, resource exchange, and collective problem-solving.
Preceding the opening ceremony, a Flag Raising Ceremony will take place at the Zuliani Roundabout in Frigate Bay at 4 pm on Sunday.
