Spate of House Break-Ins and Larcenies Rock Willikies, Antigua: Investigations Underway

Source: Real News Antigua- Two house break-ins and larcenies have been
reported in Willikies.

Some time between 10 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, and the morning hours of Monday, April 1, an intruder or intruders made off with a cell phone, $300 and US$120 from one home in that
village.

It is believed that the perpetrator removed a mosquito screen from a western kitchen window and then removed five panes of louvre glass to gain entry into the Willikies home.

The other home was reportedly broken into some time between
5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, and 9 a.m. on Monday, April 1.

Reports indicate that a northern kitchen push-up window was left open and the perpetrator or perpetrators removed the screen and subsequently made off with a cell phone, an Internet modem, and $200.

And in other break-ins over the holidays, a Golden Grove New Extension home was burglarized between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, April 1.

The perpetrator or perpetrators allegedly used a hard object to destroy a lock on a metal door on the southern side of the house.

The house was ransacked, but, according to police reports, nothing was stolen.

Meanwhile, a residence on Central Street Villa was reportedly broken into some time between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday, April 1.

The homeowner has reported a bluetooth speaker and jewelry items of unknown value as missing.

Reports indicate that the perpetrator entered the dwelling by prying open a wooden bedroom window shutter.

All matters are currently under investigation.
