Sons & Daughters of Willikies and Willikies Educational Foundation donate books to Nelvie N. Gore Primary in Antigua

In Willikies, Antigua, the Sons & Daughters of Willikies presented a collection of books to the Nelvie N. Gore Primary School on behalf of the Willikies Educational Foundation.

The books cover a variety of topics such as Science, Reading, Music, Romance, Cooking and Sports.

The foundation, based in London, England, sponsored the books and plans to make additional donations to the school in the future.

Derrick Nicholas, President of the Sons & Daughters of Willikies, presented the books and encouraged the students to make good use of them to expand their knowledge about distant places, people, and cultures.

The Willikies Educational Foundation, in collaboration with the US and Antiguan chapters of Sons & Daughters of Willikies, entered into a tripartite arrangement facilitated by Dr. Oswald Thomas, President of the US Chapter. Dr. Thomas expressed his appreciation for the timely donation valued at approximately $15,000.00.

The Willikies Educational Foundation is a registered charity in England and Wales, based in London.

Its mission is to support education in Antigua, Barbuda, and the wider Caribbean by providing practical assistance to enable young people in these regions to reach their full potential.

The foundation also seeks to foster greater cultural awareness and understanding among students in Antigua and Barbuda and London, England.

The foundation was established by Mr. Kardar Challenger, a Willikies native who migrated to England with his family.

The foundation aims to give back to the country of his birth, particularly his alma mater, and advance the education of students in Antigua and Barbuda, and the wider Caribbean by providing resources such as books, stationery, computers, and sports equipment.
