As a follow up to a story we reported yesterday:
Sean Richards, a soldier in the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force, has been granted bail on fraud charges.
He is accused of misappropriating $19,052.35 from Jodele Hodge, who entrusted him with the money for a Honda Fit purchase. Payments were allegedly made to Richards on April 1 and June 8, 2023.

During his first court appearance at St John’s Magistrates’ Court, he was granted $38,000 bail with two sureties, despite prosecution objections.
Bail conditions include a $3,800 cash deposit, surrendering travel documents, maintaining his residence, and reporting to the St John’s Police Station three times a week.
Committal proceedings are set for January 14, 2025.
