ABSSB to Discontinue Cheque Payments for Short-Term Benefits from April 2025
The Antigua & Barbuda Social Security Board (ABSSB) has announced that, effective April 1, 2025, physical cheques will no longer be used for the payment of short-term benefits.
This initiative is part of ABSSB’s ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency and reduce its carbon footprint, aligning with its commitment to fulfilling its motto, “growing to provide for you.”
Going forward, all payments will be made exclusively through Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT). Beneficiaries are urged to ensure that their banking details are accurately provided when completing benefit application forms to facilitate a smooth transition.

Once yall paying on time!!! I don’t understand how before ppl get them money social security is removed and when it’s time to pay it’s six months to a year. They can’t even give you a standard time when certain things should be completed. Medical benefits make more sense at least they tell you it will take 2 months to process and they’re quite efficient. Social security on the other hand can’t provide deadlines, you have to be calling all over to do their jobs and then they tell you they’re overwhelmed. I’m overwhelmed with my bills and I’m working and making contributions everyday. Sigh
More benefits for the banker’s,what about if she/he don’t have a bank account?..what about the CONSTANT BANKING DISRUPTION?..the TELLERS MACHINE WITH CONSTANT ISSIUES TOO?..digital enforcement in a clever manner?…what about the stuff for the master slave agenda YOU CAN’T HAVE NOTHING BUT,YOU WILL BE HAPPY!!!.
