The Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) says it continues to manage COVID-19 cases safely as the virus remains present in Antigua and Barbuda.
Public Relations Officer Salma Crump confirmed that occasional positive cases among patients and staff are “expected” but stressed that strict infection-control measures are in place to prevent wider outbreaks.
Hospital administrators say lessons from the pandemic—such as enhanced sanitation, regular staff training, and close monitoring of flu-like symptoms—remain central to their response.

Health officials are urging residents, especially those with underlying conditions, to remain vigilant. While Antigua and Barbuda has largely reopened, they warn the virus still circulates.
The SLBMC assured the public that it is prepared to handle new cases and that patients can safely access care.

Of course it goes without saying that we Antiguans have to “stay vigilant” according to the Public Relations Officer Salma Crump.
However, since the last outbreak during the Covid-19 pandemic. The citizens of Antigua & Barbuda 🇦🇬must pay even closer attention to what we are being told to do by the government members and Health authority officials.
In this day and age of MISTRUST, isn’t a sad indictment of those in charge of our many institutions, that we now virtually have to look into and check everything that we are being told by them, whether they are right or wrong?
But I suppose it’s better to be safe than sorry in today’s climate of mistrust and circumspection, as they say, “once bitten, twice shy”.
Covid is very much active. I hope people understand its not something that will go away in this lifetime
We just need to be extremely careful we don’t a repeat of the outbreak
No mention of the “life-saving” vaccine. I guess they learned their lesson. If nothing else, they have earned our distrust
Will the medical community stay on the same course with the bullshit paxlovid and molnupiravir; or are they going to get/give the cheap, off label HUMAN formulation of IVM which has been proven over and over to defeat Covid once given in a timely manner. IVM prevents the virus from penetrating the cells and replicate. Why not treat this new surge with some out of the box remedies?
Isn’t saving lives the ultimate goal?
Let’s all work together to protect one another. That would be a start.Go back and start good hand washing, sanitized masked up and you are good to go.
